Wednesday May 26, 2021 – Focus issues, a triple-digit Official World Golf Ranking entering the week, and bettings odds as high as 300-1 couldn’t stop Lefty in his pursuit of the 2021 PGA Championship.

Sunday was the first time in 40+ years that both players in the final pairing of a major each had 4+ major championships to their names.

Phil was LOCKED in and picked up his 6th career major championship as a result.

Whether you want to call it fate or destiny, you can’t out grind the unquantifiable.

Everyone’s had those fleeting moments in competitive sport where you can do no wrong. You’re in the zone. That’s not to say there aren’t obstacles to overcome, it’s just that they’re blips on the radar. Nothing more, nothing less.

This was Phil’s tournament to win and there was nothing Brook’s could do about it.

The oldest major champion in history – 50 years, 11 months 8 days – was dropping 💣s all over Kiawah. It makes it particularly sweet given how long and difficult the course was playing.

When you’ve got young guns like Bryson saying, “…the most difficult course I’ve played”, you know it’s special.

And if it seems like we’re being a little sappy, it’s because we are. While we didn’t take a hard stance on it, just a few weeks back we were questioning whether or not Phil still had what it takes to compete on the biggest stage.

So, we’re just going to call this one the Lefty special. Yet another miraculous display of golf from one of the all time greats, both on and off the course.

Cheers, Lefty 🍻. We’re throwing back a few Amstel Lights in your name.
